About Kingsley Belcher Knauss

Kingsley Belcher Knauss, ASID, has provided classical interior design solutions to residential and commercial clients for more than twenty years. Her creative approach and attention to detail reflect her wealth of experience and result in tailored designs with classic appointments and design elements that stand the test of time.

For Kingsley, getting to know you and the wish list for your space is integral to her design process and her ability to transform your vision into a space that captures and reflects your individuality.

Kingsley creates a wide variety of interior environments that span traditional to contemporary design. Her rich spaces are defined by sophisticated color palettes, refined materials and the many small details that reflect a client’s vision and values. Her indoor environments present with an underlying classicism that survives the fleeting passage of design trends.

The integration of these elements has been recognized by industry peers and clients alike. They warm to Kingsley’s philosophy which stresses the close link between the disciplines of architecture and design. They praise her sophisticated yet down-to-earth style and describe her as an easy-to-work with partner in creating or redefining their interior living environment.

As a result, Kingsley has been the recipient of the NJ ASID Gold Award of Excellence on several occasions. Her work has also been featured on national TV shows and in designer showcases, residential and commercial project publications and in several coffee-table books on design.

But the recognition does not stop there. Committed to delivering her designs through organized and well-managed execution, Kingsley’s project work consistently exceeds client expectations.

Her open communication style and the illustrative project book she provides for clients on each project helps in setting realistic client expectations for them. She is often interviewed for her insights and thought leadership on topics that range from design to educating residential and commercial prospects about what to expect when engaging in an extensive home interior design project.

Prior to the establishment of KBK Interior Design, Kingsley was the senior designer for Mary Douglas Drysdale of Drysdale Design Associates in Washington, D.C.

She honed her commercial experience while working as the sole interior designer for the Boston-based firms of Goody, Clancy and Associates and Benjamin Thompson & Associates.

Kingsley is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), a certified New Jersey Interior Designer, and holds an NCIDQ (National Council of Interior Design Qualification) professional certification. She graduated with an Interior Design degree from the Boston Architectural Center and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont.
